Brothers

Brødrene Arne og Øystein Tokvam har bodd sammen nesten hele livet. De bor fortsatt i barndomshjemmet sitt i Flåm, hvor de ble født for over 80 og 73 år siden. Filmen observerer stillheten i deres daglige liv. Alt foregår i et langsomt tempo, hvor detaljer fra omgivelsene deres vektlegges. Etter hvert som vi blir bedre kjent med brødrene får vi et følsomt innblikk i deres intense forhold til hverandre, men også brødrenes livslange vanskeligheter med å forholde seg til omverdenen.

Brothers Arne and Øystein Tokvan have lived together for almost their entire lives. They still reside in their childhood home in Flåm, where they were born 80 and 73 years ago. The film reflects upon the stillness in their daily lives. Everything moves at a slow pace, and the details of their surroundings are important. Gradually, we become better acquainted with the brothers. We are given a sensitive look into their intense relationship and the difficulties they have experienced over the years in relating to the world outside.
