Ryan is a 3D computer animated film that fluctuates between animation and documentary. It is based on the life of Ryan Larkin, a Canadian animator who produced (for the National Film Board of Canada) some of the most influential animated films of his time. Today, Ryan lives on welfare and as a street beggar in downtown Montreal. How could such an artistic genius end up like this?
Om regissøren CHRIS LANDRETH forsket på fluidmekanikk ved University of Illinois før han begynte med data-animasjon. In 1994 he joined Alias Wavefront, where it was his job to define, test and attempt to crack animation software, before it was released commercially. In addition to reliable software, this resulted in the extraordinary animated short films The End (1995) and Bingo (1998). Both films have received wide international recognition and numerous awards.
