Boplicity

Boplicity er en film om 1960-årene. Det er både en ungdomserindring, og et forsøk på å stjele tiden med bop. Arkivmateriale fra filmaviser og gamle norske spillefilmer, samt fra fjernsynets barndom, skaper et morsomt og underfundig tidsbilde. Her er den kalde krigen og den varme jazzen satt sammen i en slentrende collage om kameratidens fødsel. Boplicity er et av hovedverkene i Jan Knutzens filmografi.

Boplicity is a film about the sixties. It is a recollection of youth as well as an attempt to steal time with bop. Archive footage from newsreels and old Norwegian feature films, as well as images from the childhood of television, create a funny and subtle portrait of the times. Here the cold war and the warm jazz are combined in a relaxed collage about the birth of the time of the camera. Boplicity is one of the main works of Jan Knutzen’s filmography.
